Course - nine short lectures on the dimensional model of health.
1 - Introduction
2 - Systems Theory
3 - Complexity 2 - An Understanding and a Language
4 - Evolution I
5 - Evolution II
6 - Mental Health
7 - Embryology I
8 - Embryology II
9 - Embryology Applied
The dimensional model of health is based on biological complexity, and through the study of embryology and evolution we can understand the gradual creation of the human form and all its various levels of complexity. When we look at these levels, we begin to understand how they form themselves, how they maintain themselves, and when they struggle to maintain themselves. When self-maintenance is disturbed, we get symptoms, then we get disease.
This new perspective gives us a modern scientific explanation and a new language to talk about health and disease in a new way.
Anyone can use this: Doctors, psychotherapists, nutritionists, manual therapists. But I am particularly addressing osteopaths and all other manual therapists who are willing to listen. I hope you do. And that is because I am particularly enthusiastic about osteopathy in its intended form.
And I believe that the dimensional model of health offers this perfect explanation for precisely this osteopathy in its intended form. And that is something that we have been missing and that we desperately need.
