This lecture is about how the body regulates its energy supply and control. Many aspects play a role in this.
First of all, we are used to dealing with energy in our patients. We know that we are matter, we are energy and the universe is energy and is made up of different crystallizations or manifestations of energy that create our being. So we are surrounded by energy, we are energy. We are used to recognizing in patients how much energy they have. It affects our prognosis, it affects what we can do with them in terms of treatment, how quickly they will respond. It changes our work in many ways, and it affects us: The greater the need, the more tired the patient is, the more we have to use certain techniques and certain ways of working to improve their response.
And then there are the demands on ourselves. How much do we value our own energy? Because the better our condition is, the better we can help our patients. Are we limiting ourselves? Are we overloading ourselves? All of this is part of the big energy problem.
The sources of energy - particularly from the environment and food - and the process of energy production in the body's tissues are discussed further on.
